Santini is a UK based photographer in different areas such as film, fashion and music. He has worked with a vadt amount of familiar faces in the industry, these include Lady Gaga, Jamie T, Jessie J and The Clash. This style can be described as a combination of niche and contemporary.
His lenticulars series is a collection of GIFS basically, a layer of images on a loop to create the look of film. The images captured have a depth, in every piece, and a uniqueness that I've never seen before.
Derrik has travelled worldwide with his work, going plsces and doing things you could never guess, but his work stays true and genuine and to his own style.
He studied btec in Harrogate for two years in the nineties, then going on to study a 3 year degree at LCP. After studying he interned/ assisted for while, he then went on to create a portfolio consisting of work in different styles, and approached an agent, who took him on.
He is part of the GODDOG collectivw which is a collaboration of artists in different creative areas, teaming together to create projects and to teach things to people.
Listening to Derrik talk about his career and experiences, especially about all the cool people hes worked with, was instantly inspirational. He spoke about how young, low key bands would approach him and ask him to shoot them for free, and he would say yes. Its proof that if you stand by what you love and do what makes you happy, being the best you can be, then money, a career and happiness will soon catch up with you.
